Sometimes an album comes along and surprises you. With all the talk about AI in music, you might expect something cold or clinical – but For Everyone I Ever Loved feels anything but that. This is a warm, reflective, deeply personal collection of songs
that sounds like a man looking back on life, love, gratitude, and the people who shaped him.

From Chip Altholz, the creative force behind FunkTheAI, this album moves away from pure dance-funk and into something much more intimate. Here, acoustic ballads, folk-country touches, soul-rock textures and heartfelt storytelling all come together to create a record that feels honest and human.

The album opens beautifully with Purpose For Today, a stripped-back and thoughtful start that immediately tells you this is going to be a different kind of journey. From there, songs like Nothing Left To Prove and
If You Had Not Shown Up bring more grit and emotional weight, while still keeping that reflective thread running through the record.

One of the standout moments is I Know Who You Are – a powerful, soulful track with a raspy vocal edge and a chorus that really lands. Then the album gently shifts again with I Came To Spend an Hour With You, which is quiet, simple and touching in a way that feels very real.

The title track, For Everyone I Ever Loved, sums up the whole spirit of the album – it feels like a tribute to memories,
relationships, and the people who leave their mark on our lives. There’s real feeling in these songs, and that is what makes the album connect.

What makes this project stand out is that it doesn’t hide behind the technology. Yes, it is AI-assisted, but what comes through much more strongly is the heart behind the songs. Gratitude, age, love, regret, tenderness, and reflection – those are the things you notice.

There’s also a lovely sense of flow to the album. It has highs and lows, quiet moments and stronger ones, and it feels as though each track has been placed carefully to take the listener somewhere. By the time you reach the closing piece, Good Enough (Coda), the album has done what the best records do – it makes you stop and think about your own life for a moment.

For Everyone I Ever Loved is not about chasing trends or showing off production tricks. It is about saying something meaningful. It is about people. It is about looking back and being grateful. And that is why this album has a real warmth to it.

If you like music that mixes acoustic honesty, Americana colour, country feeling, folk storytelling, singer-songwriter depth, and touches of soul rock, then this is worth your time.
