⭐ Geoff Carter from The Flagship Breakfast Show On UK Talk Radio Reviews: The Laura Complex Part One – The Riddle of Uncle Abe by R.S.J. Manning ⭐

🔥 Wow! From the very first page, The Laura Complex had me hooked. This isn’t just another crime thriller—it’s a wild ride through betrayal, hidden treasure, and danger that oozes from every page.

📖 Walter Wells thought he was just coming home to bury his eccentric uncle… but instead, he steps straight into a storm of Nazi diamonds, crooked cops, cartel players, and old flames with hidden agendas. Add in a brewing hurricane, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a page-turning mystery that refuses to let you go.

💥 What I loved most was how R.S.J. Manning blends Southern noir, dark comedy, and razor-sharp suspense. Every twist feels fresh, every character has secrets, and the writing pulls you deep into the swampy world of the Alligator River basin.

🎭 Walter isn’t your typical hero—he’s flawed, funny, and sometimes in way over his head. That makes the danger all the more real, and the stakes all the more gripping.

If you’re into crime, thrillers & mystery novels that mix atmosphere, action, and unforgettable characters, this book delivers in spades.

✅ The Laura Complex: The Riddle of Uncle Abe is thrilling, original, and downright addictive. R.S.J. Manning has crafted something that deserves a spot on every crime lover’s bookshelf.

⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – A must-read for fans of thrillers, noir, and high-stakes mystery!

The Laura Complex Part One: The Riddle of Uncle Abe Hardcover – 9 Jun. 2025

by R.S.J. Manning (Author)
In the blistering heat of the Alligator River basin, secrets fester like swamp rot, and Walter Wells just stepped in it up to his neck.

He came back to Nags Head to bury a crazy old uncle and maybe sort out a few dusty estate details. What he didn’t count on was a hurricane, a missing fortune in Nazi diamonds, a suspiciously flirtatious high school flame… and enough crooked cops, cartel misfits, and FBI agents to make a pulp novelist blush.Walter’s charm is only skin-deep, and the past has teeth. As a thirty-something lawyer with fading Ivy League polish and rising debt, he finds himself the perfect mark—and maybe the perfect patsy. But when he digs into Uncle Abe’s ransacked shack, what he unearths is a riddle wrapped in blood, betrayal, and buried World War II treasure.

With storms brewing, both literal and criminal, Walter is a man out of his depth. And the locals? They’re playing a game that’s been rigged from the start.

Twisting through Southern noir, dark comedy, and razor-edged suspense, The Laura Complex pulls no punches. Part crime thriller, part con game, and wholly original, this is a story where nobody’s clean, everyone’s playing an angle, and survival means knowing when to lie, when to run, and when to draw the line.

He came home to settle accounts, but some debts can only be paid in blood.
