A native of historically grunge-infused Seattle, M-Ritz is an emerging Pop Singer & Songwriter flavored with East-Coast swagger from her recent years in New York. Vocally trained in Classical and Jazz, and imbued with a wide range of musical genre influences such as Opera, Rock, Funk, and Rockabilly, M-Ritz has cultivated a fluid singing style inspired by the talent of female solo artists such as Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Imelda May, Enya, Bjork, Aretha Franklin, and Eva Cassidy.

M-Ritz’s vivacious music breathes depth and empowerment into her listeners with exciting, sway-worthy rhythms. She began independently releasing music in 2018 with her debut EP “Like I Love You” (produced by XNDR from AP Music Group and Robert “Cortex” Sparks with hOLLANDjUNGLE). Over the course of 2018, M-Ritz collaborated with hOLLANDjUNGLE and Ax-Ra Films on the release of two more experimental singles ranging from Soul-toned stylizations to raging EDM. A history nerd at heart with sultry vocal flair, M-Ritz has since focused her artistic energies towards creating an evolutionary fusion between the magic of classic Jazz with the pep of modern Pop, beginning with her 2019 single “Cool Cat” (hOLLANDjUNGLE).

Three years after the launch of her Jazzy Pop singles “Cool Cat” and “So Close” (featuring Bronx rapper Shay Payso), M-Ritz is back at it with her release of “By Now” (July 2022), a 7-track cinematic Pop album flavored with Deep House and spices of Jazz, Nu Disco, and Rock. An offshoot of M-Ritz’s lighter Pop vibes, “By Now” (hOLLANDjUNGLE) showcases M-Ritz’s artistry and placement as a skilled songwriter in her own right.

“By Now” is a reflective, vulnerable collection of songs that demonstrates M-Ritz’s growth as an up-and-coming Pop artist. From a complete restructuring of the 1971 classic “Diamonds Are Forever” to fit a modern Pop tempo suited for upscale lounges and nightclubs; to sobering social commentary set to a cutting-edge electronic beat in “The Divide Between,” where we hear it blended with jazzy saxophone riffs and haunting vocal improvisational trills; to the EP’s title track “By Now (When Will This End),” utilizing live oud and orchestration that is fit for major motion pictures… “By Now” establishes serious artistic promise of yet greater things to come. The EP’s third track, “Pain in My Heart,” is a catchy Dance-pop track that is backed by bright brass tones and electrifying guitar riffs that hearken back to the glory of ’80s Rock. “Skin,” which transitions the EP into a more melancholy disposition, maintains a high energy beat pulsing throughout the Deep House ballad, amidst more raw and expressive vocals. Finally, and perhaps most noteworthy of the EP, is the inspired message carried throughout the “Thrive” and “Thrive (Alternate Version)” tracks–the former being reminiscent of an uplifting Broadway musical number set to a contemporary Pop beat; and the latter, the EP’s grand finale, as a timely Electronic music tune appropriately situated in our 21st-century Space Age.

M-Ritz’s new EP is shortly followed by a continuation of her unique Jazzy Pop style, with release of singles “Alter Ego” (August 2022) and “Baubles” (October 2022). Whimsical yet deep, catchy yet drenched with substance, these songs take her genre to another level by integrating classic Jazz and related early 20th-century popular American music styles with contemporary flair fit for the modern social scene.

M-Ritz’s music is available on YouTube and all major music streaming platforms (Spotify, iTunes, Deezer, Amazon, etc.).
